Refurbishment Service

Sercal NDT is now able to offer a specialist NDT equipment refurbishment service for Thickness Gauges and Flaw Detector Ultrasonic NDT equipment. The service we provide is bespoke to the equipment owner and age and condition of the equipment itself. Sercal have the capabilities to refurbish current and legacy equipment from GE (Krautkramer)Sonatest and Olympus.

Refurbishing equipment can be a viable way to reduce your costs. Each set will be provided with a fresh UKAS accredited calibration certificate for peace of mind.

Because of the nature of this service, lead times may vary depending on the work required. We will always aim to give you an honest appraisal of your equipment and the time it will take to refurbish.

Equipment Refurbishment

As equipment ages and becomes obsolete, Manufacturers do attempt to stock spare parts for a limited period. Once they are gone, they are gone! Or so we believe. Sercal have been maintaining equipment long past the manufacturer’s expiration date. We do this by using our own stock of spare parts and alternative component suppliers.

Combining multiple UT sets

If you have several sets each with different problems, Sercal can look to combine multiple sets into one or more working units.

Part exchange
Should your equipment be beyond repair Sercal are able to source new equipment for you should it be needed. Depending on the equipment, we may be able to accept damaged goods as a part exchange so that we may use it for spare parts for future refurbishment.

Purchase of legacy equipment
We are always interested to learn about the equipment you no longer require. The periods that OEM’s offer trade-ins are short and usually come with conditions along with that sale. OEM’s also will not take equipment from other manufacturers. If you are committed to purchasing new equipment and the OEM’s are not willing to accept your equipment, then please contact Sercal today.

Costs
Following the initial inspection, a quotation for the work required and estimated lead time (including calibration) shall be provided. Once accepted we shall complete the work once instructed. For Pro-forma invoices the full balance will be required before the work can be carried out. If an account is held with us, payment shall be required as part of our standard terms and conditions.

Should you wish to part exchange your equipment against new or we wish to purchase your equipment this initial inspection charge shall be discounted as part of the sale.
